Application: Front-End Loading

With its patented cast iron heat exchanger and proprietary HeatNet control system, the KN-Series stands alone in its accommodation of front-end loading applications.

Application Overview

Front-end loading is a boiler configuration in which condensing units are combined with non-condensing boilers to provide the highest possible burner efficiencies under different seasonal or load conditions.

Lower Install Costs

Meeting total BTU requirements with a combination of condensing and near-condensing units lowers first costs: no reason to pay exclusively for low-input modulation capability when many periods will present high load conditions. Higher efficiency units can run during warmer weather to minimize fuel usage.

Non-condensing units would run in the heart of the heating season when higher water temperatures are required. With its small footprint and compatibility with various piping/water conditions and vent configurations, KN is unmatched in its ability to combine with other boiler types.

Lower Operation Costs

For retrofits or expansions where non-condensing boilers remain in operation, or for applications that regularly call for high domestic water usage, including a KN-Series boiler can bring a new level of efficiency during periods of low demand (depending on season, occupancy periods, etc.). Its intuitive, onboard HeatNet controller makes for simple connections to new or legacy systems, and is capable of acting as lead boiler or as one in a series. KN's Tru-Flow™ combustion ensures safe, clean operation.
